Why is my AC running but the house still feels humid?
An air conditioner removes humidity as it cools. A system that is too large for the house cools quickly and shuts off before it can dry the air, and dirty coils, low refrigerant or leaky ducts can cause the same problem. We check the system and the ductwork and tell you what is causing it.
My AC uses R-22 refrigerant. What does that mean?
R-22 is no longer produced in the United States, so the supply that remains is limited and expensive. If a system that uses R-22 needs refrigerant, replacing the system is often the better investment. We check which refrigerant your system uses at the site walk.
What size AC does my home need?
The right size comes from a room-by-room load calculation. Square footage is only part of the answer: insulation, windows, sun exposure, ceiling height and ductwork all change it. We size every new system this way so the equipment fits your home.
Do you install ductless mini-splits?
Yes. Mini-splits heat and cool a single room or zone without ductwork, which makes them a good fit for garages, additions, sunrooms and rooms the main system does not reach.
Who does the HVAC work?
Licensed HVAC contractors we work with. In Texas, air conditioning and heating work must be done under a license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). We coordinate the schedule and stay your point of contact.
When do I choose my equipment?
Before work starts. After the site walk, we go through your options with you: equipment brand and size, efficiency level, thermostat and any air quality add-ons. Every choice goes on a written materials list that you approve with your estimate.
How much does a new AC system cost?
Cost depends on the size of the system, the efficiency level you choose, the condition of your ductwork and where the equipment goes. After the site walk, we price the exact equipment you picked and send a detailed estimate in writing. The estimate is free.
